Schwinn electric scooter

Schwinn electric scooter

Schwinn electric scooter It runs very slowly...I took it apart and it has 2 little 12 volt batteries under the footboard....when I tested it, I got 13.19 volt for each battery and 26 volts DC total on both of them and I also tested the little fuse in there and it is not broken it still looks good and has continuity When I put everything back together and turned on the handle the Schwinn S350 electric scooter barely even turns when I have the back tire off the ground. Could the brushes in the little metal box next to the batteries be bad?? If you reply...please walk me thru it...I'm not the best with a volt meter....and you'll need to tell me which wire to test and what # I'm looking for. Thanks Kyle I know that I saw this exact post in another forum a few months ago. Question - did you check out or try the various tips offered. You may be better off taking this to a shop which either repairs electric scooters or an electrical shop which has low voltage experience. In either case, the repair cost will probably exceed the value of the scooter. which model? is it chain drive or roller or belt? have you tried disconnecting the drive system and see if the wheel spins freely? Or motor spin freely? It could be the wheel bearings, motor bearings or the controller board. Even brakes rubbing. If you open your motor for a look, check for these tell-tale signs of problems: Brushes: pitted, burned, chipped, worn Springs: discolored, dissimilar pressure Armature: overheated (i.e. discolored) windings, loose laminations Commutator: brush debris between segments, wear, erosion/wear, oxidation Bearings: dry, loose, tight Magnets: loose, scored by contact with armature You can clean the commutator - gently - with emery paper. Carefully remove the debris from between the segments with a toothpick. If you replace the brushes, be certain they are exactly the same as the originals. Same with the springs, although sometimes it's advisable to use slightly stronger ones. You MAY be able to lube the bearings, but replacing them is probably best if they're the sealed type. A good source for small motor brushes is an automotive electric shop that actually rebuilds alternators/generators. Another possibility would be W.W.Grainger or other industrial supplier that specialize in electric motors. i would like to know why my schwinn electric s350 will not charge? Thank you Bad charger or bad battery or bad connection. You need to test/check them. Originally Posted by goldstar Bad charger or bad battery or bad connection. You need to test/check them. How do you test a charger to see if it's working right. I put a meter on mine and it shows 26 volts. I bought brand new batteries. They came pre charged and the scooter ran for a good 10 minutes off that initial charge but when i plugged them in overnight, today i got less than 5 minutes run time out of them. What are the lights on the charger supposed to do? Blink during charge? The light comes on and stays on solid green when i plug it in for charging. Am i supposed to charge with the scooter switched on or off? I can't find a manual for this thing anywhere and i bought it used. The charger seems to indicated that it will flash when charging but it does not.
