Diy Epoxy And Pea Gravel Floor

An epoxy and pea gravel finish gives your floor a textured appearance. The pea gravel looks like it can move, but the epoxy holds it in place, which means you don't have to worry about it getting dragged across your house or your garden. Most pea gravel is mixed with the epoxy before you lay it out. This keeps the pea gravel from moving around too much when you lay it.

Instructions

1. Mop your floor with water to remove any dirt or dust. Allow the area to dry completely before continuing.

2. Apply a coat of epoxy primer over the floor with a paint roller. Allow the primer to dry for at least 30 minutes.

3. Mix the pea gravel and epoxy together. To cover a 50-square-foot area, use 1-1/2 gallons of epoxy mixed with 200 lbs. of pea gravel.

4. Pour the pea gravel epoxy mixture onto the floor and use a rake to distribute it in an even layer, about 3/8- to 1/2-inch thick. Smooth out the mixture with a trowel.

5. Allow the mixture to dry for 24 hours before allowing foot traffic on the surface.
