Difference Between Phiten Titanium & Magnetic Titanium

Major League Baseball players have made Phiten's titanium-blend jewelry popular.

If you have recently purchased a Phiten USA necklace or bracelet, you may be wondering about the materials used to make this unique piece of jewelry. Phiten jewelry uses a special blend of the metal titanium to make its flexible, plastic-like bracelets that Major League Baseball players have made popular. This titanium blend is different from standard titanium.

Aqua Metals

Phiten titanium bracelets and necklaces are made from a blend of materials that Phiten USA calls "Aqua Metals." The metals, which include titanium, "are broken down into microscopic particles dispersed in water," according to the official Phiten USA website. The combination of the "Aqua Metals" with other materials produce a product that Phiten USA claims helps to relieve joint pain.

Alternate Phiten Materials

Beyond titanium and other metals, Phiten combines materials such as fabric and silicone to make its plastic-like, flexible single- and double-strand bracelets and necklaces. For example, the "Aqua Metals" are "fused into the fabric in a process similar to dyeing," according to the official Phiten USA website.

Magnetic Titanium Jewelry

Magnetic Titanium bracelets claim to relieve joint pain if you wear them on your wrist. These bracelets are formed by blending titanium with magnets. Magnetic titanium jewelry is also available in a necklace form.

Titanium Properties

Titanium as a base metal is a strong yet lightweight metal that resists corrosion and is plentiful in the Earth's crust. Key to Metals writes that, "of all the elements in the earth's crust, titanium is the ninth most plentiful."
