Instructions For Cloisonne Balls

You can use cloisonn balls to build muscle in the hand and arm.

Chinese medicine practitioners recommend the use of cloisonne balls as a form of acupuncture and therapeutic release. This works by holding the cloisonn balls in the palm of the hand and rolling them in such a way to stimulate the hand's pressure points, which is then said to stimulate the body too. You can purchase cloisonn balls in a variety of materials, including wood, metal and stone, from health shops.

Instructions

1. Choose a small pair of cloisonn balls. These come in varying sizes, from ½ inch diameter to 2 ½ inches. Ensure that both balls fit into the palm of your hand.

2. Place both balls on the palm of one hand, and close your fingers around them.

3. Rotate the balls around each other using your palm, fingers and thumb. Ensure the balls touch at all times. One direction is likely to feel more natural than the other, so begin with the direction that you find easiest.

4. Rotate the balls in the opposite direction once you have mastered the initial direction. You may find tilting your palm helps you to rotate easier.

5. Separate the balls with a finger and rotate both balls in the original direction. Do not allow the balls to touch each other.

6. Switch to the other side once you've mastered rolling in both directions.
