Indigestion Pain Symptoms

Indigestion occurs when the acidic contents of the stomach reflux into the esophagus and cause pain. There are many painful side effects attributable to this condition. However, it is important to know that while the symptoms of indigestion can be painful, the pain should not be severe. If you experience severe pain, consult your physician.


Heartburn


Heartburn is a symptom of indigestion and has been named so because of the burning sensation felt near the heart during an episode.


Burning


Indigestion can cause a burning in the esophagus. The painful burning sensation that comes with indigestion can come up as far as the back of your throat.


Tightness


Indigestion can leave a tight feeling in the throat, and can leave you will the sensation that there is something stuck there when you swallow.








Bloating


Indigestion can cause painful bloating and gas. This generally increases belching and flatulence.


Nausea


Nausea is a side effect of indigestion, and although not painful, can be debilitating.
