Internal Massage Training

A masseuse performs a position used in Thai massage on a client.

Internal massage, also known as Thai massage, is meant to be therapeutic and can be used to treat illness and promote well-being. This ancient massage technique has two methods used in its practice. The first consists of constant pressure to specific nerves or ligaments, while the second is a method likened to passive yoga, with the masseuse doing the work.

Massage Therapy School

Attending a school that specializes in Thai massage is the most frequent option for training. Make sure the school is accredited. Hands-on training is important in massage to learn techniques properly. Courses teach flowing movements, different positions, energy lines and acupressure points.

Traveling Massage Training

Staff members from the International Training Massage School, based in Thailand, travel to different countries to teach Thai massage. It's usually a week-long course that is taught at a hotel. Registration is done online.

Instructional Videos

There are instructional DVDs for use at home that are meant to help students already trained in the art of Thai massage. They are meant to perfect technique and give ideas for a routine.
