Tea Detox Diet

Any detox used to cleanse the body, promote health and well-being and provide energy is beneficial. Detox techniques help remove toxins and free radicals that build up because of bad eating habits or environmental factors such as air pollution. Drinking tea while on a detox diet helps the body remove chemicals our bodies hold onto after eating processed, high-sugar and fatty foods.

Herbal Detox

Even though detox teas are popular, our bodies contain organs that work to help remove buildup of toxins. The immune system, liver, colon, kidneys, blood and lungs all help with detoxing naturally. However, using an herbal detox diet tea can help the body in the detoxification process. Herbal detox teas are created from herbs found in different parts of the world, including America, Europe, Asia and South America. Look for teas known to detox a particular organ.

Body Cleansing

Detox diets and cleansing help you to lose weight quickly. Such diets curb appetite and restrict calories. However, weight usually comes back after completion of such programs. Body-cleansing tea is effective when it is incorporated into a weight-loss diet, since it helps remove toxins in fat cells. Green tea is healthy, since it contains EGCG or epigallocatechin gallate, which helps the body fight against free radicals that cause cancer.

Organ Cleansing

Decide which organs need cleansing, based on the way you feel, and choose a tea that helps detoxify that organ. For example, if you experience frequent colds, detox the immune system using teas that contain echinacea, marshmallow root or walnut bark. For a lack of energy, detox the liver with teas containing milk thistle, peppermint or any high antioxidant tea, such as green tea. For skin detoxing, look for teas with sarsaparilla or ginger.
