Pray For Healing

prayer for healing

"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see." (Mark 10:51) That is a great question that Jesus asks, "What do you want me to do for you?" Are you, or someone you know, suffering from a sickness, be it physically, emotionally, relationally, financially or spiritually? What do we want Jesus to do? Read on to learn more.

Instructions

1. In the Bible, Jesus healed many. I think of the woman who had the issue of bleeding. Her faith carried her to work her way through the crowds surrounding Jesus and stretch her hand to touch the edge of Jesus' robe. She did this fully believing that healing would come. I wonder why she didn't ask Jesus for healing. Did she think He would say no? Do we think that Jesus will say no? Nowhere in the Bible is it written where Jesus refuses to heal someone who asked for healing, or someone who asked for another. Could it be that we doubt His ability or desire to heal today? Do we know what we want Jesus to do for us? Do we ask believing? His desire for us to be healed from sin was so strong and passionate, that He died on a cross to accomplish it.

2. Not everyone is healed that is prayed for...that is a fact. We don't know the reasons why, but we do know that God is the healer and that we can trust Him. Perhaps there is something in the person's life that is keeping them from being healed. Maybe they don't want to be healed. Perhaps God's plan is better than the healing we desire. When a person was physically healed in the Bible, they were not healed forever. They eventually got sick and died.

3. Although our ultimate healing happens when we enter heaven, I do not believe that is the only healing Jesus will do. I know that Jesus brings healing as a result of prayer. With that fact, pray specifically for the need. Jesus is alive and still brings miraculous healing to people. I have seen it happen. Not every time, of course, but God has a purpose in all His answers to our prayers. He sees the whole picture of time, where we only get a glimpse. We do need to ask for the healing believing that healing is what God desires. It may not always be the answer we want, but we need to trust God with the outcome for He does have the perfect answer. We matter to Him. Talk to Jesus. He is waiting.
