Remove Lint From New Towels
Nothing spruces up your bathroom like brand new towels that match your decor....but new towels can act almost like magnets for lint. Their new pile is plush and thick and lint sticks to them like glue. No matter how long you spend in an attempt at picking off each and every little piece, you never quite get them all. With a couple of items you likely have ready and waiting in your home, you can enjoy your new towels and keep them lint-free with ease.
Instructions
1. Shake out towels to remove as much dust and surface dirt as possible. The pile on new towels creates a magnetic force that attracts dust, lint and even debris like leaves from plants or fur from pets.
2. Throw new, dry towels into your clothes dryer with two or three dryer sheets. Run the dryer for about 30 minutes on medium heat. Shake the towels out again once removed from the dryer.
3. Lay each of the towels flat and spray with a product like Downy Wrinkle Remover Spray. Allow the spray to dry for 5 or 10 minutes. Flip the towels over and treat the opposite side the same way.
4. Repeat this process each time you launder your new towels. After a few washings the towels should remain lint-free after laundering.
Tips Warnings
Recycle the dryer sheets you use in this process by storing them in the linen closet with your towels. They will provide a fresh scent as well as reduce static electricity.
