Mums are attractive flowers to add to a centerpiece for a fall shower.
A celebratory event in honor of an upcoming wedding, a bridal shower is intended to literally shower the bride-to-be with gifts that will prepare her for wedded life. If you are planning a bridal shower and the event will be held in the fall, add interest to the tables with fall-themed centerpieces.
Pumpkins and Flowers
In lieu of a vase, this centerpiece uses hallowed out pumpkins. Cut a wide hole in the top of a pumpkin and remove the seeds. Once the pumpkin has been completely hallowed out, insert a piece of floral Oasis inside. Fill the floral Oasis with mums, asters and colorful leaves so that they stick out of the top of the pumpkin. Place the arrangement in the center of a table and surround it with tea lights.
Floating Apples
Apples are the main element of this fall centerpiece. Line the bottom of glass bowls with green and silver or red and silver glass beads. Fill the bowls with water and float small red or green apples in the water. You may also float rose petals and candles in the water to add romance to the centerpiece. Place a mirror in the center of the table and sit the centerpiece on top of the mirror. Scatter rose petals around the centerpiece.
Fall Tray
Use a decorative platter or tray as the basis for this centerpiece. Scatter fall-colored leaves and acorns along the bottom of the tray. Place gourds, pumpkins, apples, pears, berries and other fall fruits and vegetables on top of the leaves and acorns. Lay a red, orange or yellow runner down the center of the table and place the centerpiece on top of it. Arrange a collection of candles in different colors and heights around the centerpiece--perhaps spiced or pumpkin scented candles.
Hurricane Glasses
Fill amber, green or red hurricane glasses with glass beads and sit a pillar candle on top of the beads. Fashion a wreath from floral Oasis, mums, asters, sunflowers or daises, acorns, pine cones and fall leaves. Place the wreath around the hurricane glass. Situate the decoration in the center of a table and light the candle.
Candle Arrangement
Candles are the focus of this centerpiece. Place three different sized pillar candles on a decorative circular or square plate. Situate pumpkins, pears or apples around the candles. After placing the plate in the center of the table, arrange tea lights in a haphazard manner around the perimeter of the plate.
