Use An Ion Digital Camera

Polaroid Ion cameras are perfect for amateur photographers who are just getting started. The original Ion camera is a simple, low-priced point-and-shoot device that also can record video. Using these cameras is a breeze, but new photographers can benefit from learning about important features like the continuous image mode, use the self-timer and delete single or multiple photos from the Ion.

Instructions

1. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries in the battery compartment. Slide the battery door located on the back right hand side of the camera to the right. Lift the door upwards after it unlocks. Read the polarity symbols and align the positive and negative ends of the batteries correctly. Push the battery door down and slide it to the left until it locks.

2. Turn on the Ion Digital camera. Press the "Mode" button to make the LCD screen light up. Slide the shutter lock switch next to the viewfinder to the unlocked position.

3. Remove the lens cover. Slide the lens cover on the front of the camera outward and to the right. Slide it in again after you take a picture to protect the camera.

4. Press the shutter button to take a picture. Listen for a high-pitched beep to notify you that the image was taken. Move to an area with more light if you hear a low-pitched beep as this means the light was insufficient.

5. Press the "Mode" button until the symbol "Ct" appears on the LCD screen to take a series of continuous images. Press the shutter button and hold it down. The camera will continue to take up to 104 continuous images.

6. Press the "Mode" button until "St" appears on the LCD screen to use the self-timer. Press the shutter button and wait 10 seconds for the Ion to take the picture. Listen for a long beep after 10 seconds have passed. This means the picture has been taken.

7. Press the "Mode" button until "CL" appears on the LCD screen to delete a single picture. Press the shutter button. Press it again when the "CL" begins to flash to delete the last image you took.

8. Press the "Mode" button until "CA" appears on the LCD screen to delete all of the images stored on the Ion. Press the shutter button once. Press it again when the "CA" begins to flash to delete all of the images.

9. Press the "Mode" button to change the image resolution. Press the shutter button once the LCD screen displays the desired resolution, for example, "low-res" or "high-res."

10. Press the "Mode" button until "AI" appears on the LCD screen to record video. Press the shutter button and hold it down to record video. Press the shutter button again to stop recording. Video will stop recording when the memory is full.
