Anthem offers California Group Health Insurance: Groups of 2 to 50 and Groups of 51 or More. Group health insurance is designed for employers and are not available to individuals. Depending on the size of the employment, the employer will purchase one of the two group options. Employees will then have an option to buy into the insurance plan or purchase an alternative plan option from another insurance agent or from within the Anthem Individual plan tier.


Considerations


For seniors looking for additional Medicare coverage or want to join the Anthem Medicare program, eligibility is limited to those person age 65 or older with beneficiary status in the Medicare program. In 2009, Anthem offers the following Medicare plans: Anthem's Medicare Supplement Plans (this plan is limited to California), Blue Cross MedicareRx Part D Prescription Drug Plans, Anthem's Medicare Advantage Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), Anthem's Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), and Anthem SmartValue Medicare Advantage Private Fee for Service (PFFS).
