Use Meditation To Relieve Anxiety

Meditation is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. It has a cumulative effect on the mind and body so the benefits increase over time. Also, it can improve your over all sense of well being. There are many ways to meditate. I've found that one of the most powerful methods is to focus on my breathing.

Instructions

1. Find a quiet room where you won't be disturbed. You can light a candle or burn incense or turn on soft music if that helps.

2. Get in a comfortable position. You can sit on the floor with your back straight and legs crossed. You can also sit in a soft comfortable chair or you can lie down on your bed.

3. Clear your mind from all thoughts. Close your eyes and start taking deep breaths. Slowly breathe in through your nose as you count to seven in your mind. Then slowly exhale through your mouth to the count seven. Do this repeatedly, focusing only on your breathing.

4. Make meditation a daily routine. Just ten minutes a day can be very beneficial. If you want faster results, take slow deep breaths throughout the day. Just breathe in and hold your breath for a few seconds and slowly exhale. You can do this while you are driving. Over time, you will notice that you are not feeling nearly as much stress and anxiety.
