Diet Using Color Therapy

Diet Using Color Therapy

Color therapy is an ancient alternative therapy that uses color and light to treat imbalances in energy fields and "chakras" in the body. People turn to color therapy to reduce cravings, combat depression associated with weight gain, improve digestive function and create long-term weight loss solutions. Follow these steps to learn more.

Instructions

Overview

1. Stop and ask yourself what color your body needs, then find a food in that color. Select foods such as yellow bananas, green grapes or red strawberries. You can learn more about which colors stimulate which functions at the Myth Web site (see Resources below).

2. Look for practical tips on color and diet from the book "Color Therapy: Healing With Color" by R. B. Amber (see Resources below). Review the chapters on lose and gain weight using color therapy exercises.

3. Improve your chances of long-term weight loss by incorporating a complementary therapy like hypnotherapy into your dieting efforts.

4. Learn more about holistic weight-loss techniques in "Losing It-Naturally: A Complete Holistic Weight Loss Program" (see Resources below).

Color Therapy Weight Loss Tips

6. Replace your current refrigerator light with an inexpensive blue light. Blue light is thought to shrink growth and suppress the appetite.

7. Invest in a pair of yellow color therapy sunglasses, and wear them for 20 minutes a day to improve your focus and help you stick to your diet.

8. Take 10 minutes to visualize the color red. Do this twice a day for best results. Imagining red works differently on the mind and body than actually seeing red.

9. Hang pictures around the table or dining area that feature greens, violets and blues. These colors are thought to suppress the appetite.

10. Invest in a stylish black tablecloth. Black is also thought to suppress the appetite.

11. Drink red energized water to suppress your appetite. Invest in clear glasses with a red tint, or buy a red light gel and wrap it around an 8-ounce glass. Fill 2 of the glasses with 8 ounces of water. Cover the glasses using plastic wrap, and leave them outside in direct sunlight for at least three hours. Drink a glass of energized water in the morning and another in the evening.
