Treat Erectile Dysfunction

Treat Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is the repeated inability either to attain an erection or keep one long enough to perform sexual intercourse. There are various treatments for erectile dysfunction. These treatments can sometimes mean only a few lifestyle changes, but in other cases, you may need to investigate more extreme methods. Doctors usually recommend starting with the least serious form of treatment and moving to the most serious.

Instructions

1. Recognize the symptoms of erectile dysfunction. These symptoms include an inability to get an erection or remain sexually stimulated throughout sexual intercourse. If this happens repeatedly, you may have erectile dysfunction.

2. Consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis. A doctor looks into a patient's medical history for signs of other diseases which may be related to erectile dysfunction. She may also ask you questions about your sexual experiences.

3. Change certain elements of your lifestyle that could be affecting your sexual ability. These changes include quitting smoking, losing excessive weight and increasing physical activity.

4. Undergo psychotherapy if it is deemed the proper treatment by your doctor. The treatment for psychotherapy is often the use of techniques which decrease anxiety relating to sexual intercourse.

5. Take drugs your doctor prescribes, such as Viagra, **** or ****. These oral drugs can help to give the patient an erection, but don't produce results immediately as with drugs directly injected into the ****.

6. Discuss surgical options with the doctor if you are comfortable with it as a possible treatment. There are three possible surgical procedures for erectile dysfunction: an implant device that helps the **** to become erect, a procedure that alters arteries to increase blood flow to the **** and a surgery that blocks off veins which may allow the leaking of blood from penile tissues.
