Plantar fasciitis can be very painful and difficult to walk on. Plantar fasciitis appears on the heel of the foot. It's the bone connecting the heel to the toes of your feet. Plantar fasciitis can be common in sports injuries, but other things can contribute to plantar fasciitis. Being overweight, and putting a lot of pressure on your heal can contribute to plantar fasciitis. Discomfort from shoes can cause plantar fasciitis. Other causes of plantar fasciitis can be obesity, being flat footed, injury to the foot, or just age.


Plantar fasciitis symptoms are inflammation and pain in the heel. Whenever you put weight on the back of your heel, you feel instant pain in the heel. Plantar fasciitis treatment can be done with home remedies. Or physical therapy and prescribed medications can help treat plantar fasciitis. It is rather easy to recover from plantar fasciitis. Prevention more than anything helps treat it. I'll show you ways to treat and help prevent plantar fasciitis.

1. Wear the right shoes. Plantar fasciitis is more common in women, since they tend to wear high heals. Avoid high heals, that cause discomfort on the heal. Pick moderate high heel shoes instead. I know, women love their high heels. If you're going to wear them, at least don't wear them all the time. Maybe just for special occasion.


You want a shoe that contains good padding as well, so you're comfortable. Avoid really tight shoes, and remember to buy new shoes after three months. Poor and damaged shoes can contribute to plantar fasciitis. If you run, make sure you by running shoes. The wrong shoes when running is an easy way to get plantar fasciitis.


2. Don't walk around a lot of your bare feet. Especially if you walk on hard surfaces, the feet require comfort. Buy some sandals or slippers that you can wear. Slippers and sandals provide the right comfort for the feet. Keep the feet protected!


3. Dip your foot into a bucket of ice. Or you can use ice packs to help reduce inflammation. Ice can heal injuries naturally. It will help soothe the pain away and can help reduce your plantar fasciitis symptoms. Keep your foot dipped into an ice bucket for about 10 minutes. Or apply ice packs to the back of the heel.


4. Exercise your and massage the heel. An easy way is to stretch that heel. You've probably done this quite a few times in gym class, when you were a kid. Or if you're in school at the moment. Sitting down on the floor, spread your legs, then reach toward the tip of your toe. The foot where you have the plantar fasciitis, obviously. Do this at least 10 times, holding it for 10 seconds a day. Also massage the heal as well. Physical therapy is a great way to help treat pain and relax tension in a specific area. Pay someone a dollar to give you a good foot massage. If you have bad foot odors, better make it a few extra.


5. Use splints when sleeping. Splints help keep the heel stretched. They'll provide the perfect amount of comfort to help you sleep throughout the night. Sleeping with plantar fasciitis can cause discomfort. You should see a doctor if pain symptoms continue to get worse.
