Health Information On Neem Oil

Health Information on Neem Oil

Neem oil, also known as neem seed oil, is derived from the seed kernels of the neem tree, a tropical, evergreen tree with origins in India. The seed of the neem tree resembles an olive, and the oil is produced by crushing the kernels. It has many health benefits.

Hair

Neem oil has been used to restore dry, damaged hair and promote shiny, healthy hair, and to relieve dry and itchy scalp. It encourages growth because it helps stimulate the hair follicles. Neem oil is also used to counter head lice.

Dry Skin

Neem oil is often used as a skin moisturizer and can be used to soothe dry, irritated skin. Neem oil is high in Vitamin E and rich in emollients that improve the skin's elasticity.

Acne

Neem oil also improves overall skin condition and immunity, helping to fight bacterial infections that can result in acne. This makes it an excellent treatment for oily skin too.

Nails

Neem oil also makes a nice treatment for the cuticles, helping to eliminate brittle nails and dry, cracked cuticles. It's also good for preventing nail fungus due to its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Other Uses

Although neem oil has the most varied uses, all parts of the neem plant are beneficial and have their own uses. For example, neem leaf and bark extracts are used in toothpaste and mouthwash to prevent gum disease.
