Release Toxins With A Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is not a relaxing massage but rather loosens and releases toxins.

Deep tissue massage is used in a number of different therapies and massage including Swedish massage, Thai massage, sports and muscular massage and lymphatic drainage. It uses slow firm strokes and pressure to work the deeper layers of muscle tissue which causes the tissue to loosen and release toxins. Toxins build up in the muscles when muscle stress and inflammation causes the flow of oxygen and nutrients to cease. Deep tissue massage releases toxins and restores correct blood flow and circulation of oxygen to muscles.

Instructions

1. Have a friend or family member pick you up from your appointment.

Research healing spas in your area to determine which is suitable for you. Book an appointment when you can spend the next day or two recovering such as over the weekend. Consider having a friend drive you or pick you up from the appointment as muscle soreness or fatigue can make driving difficult if not dangerous.

2. Staying hydrated helps muscles loosen and flushes out toxins.

Drink a lot of water prior to and the day of the massage as dehydrated muscles tighten while hydrated muscles will not take as long to loosen. Do not shave the day of the massage as razor burn or nicks can be distracting during the session. Eat a light meal that will leave you satisfied but not overly full.

3. Pick clothes you will be completely comfortable in.

Choose comfortable clothes to wear to the appointment. Chat with your massage therapist about any specific areas that need extra attention. This will help the therapist know which points to focus on to release toxins. Massage can last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on your needs.

4. Water and pure fruit juices help flush toxins out of the body.

Drink plenty of water post-massage to flush out all the toxins that are now floating around in your body. The will also help alleviate any feelings of fatigue following the massage. Spend the rest of the day and the following day or two relaxing and drinking fluids.
