Use Elimite For Scabies

Scabies is an infectious disease caused by the microscopic itch mite. It burrows into the skin, causing red spots and intense itching. Elimite is effective in killing the mite. It is a brand name for the permethrin topical. Other brand names it goes by are Lice Bedding Spray and Nix Lice Control (See Reference 3).

Instructions

1. Take Elimite topically (externally), not orally. Use the dosage described on the label. Do not use more than the label directs.

2. Clean and dry the skin before application. Apply a thin layer on affected areas (areas with the chickenpox-like red dots). Rub in completely. Do not apply it to open wounds. Otherwise, feel free to apply it to a broader area---even your whole body below the neckline, as a preventative measure (See Reference 3).

3. Treat your environment at the same time you are applying Elimite. Otherwise, re-infestation is likely (See Tips below for specifically do this.)

4. Discuss use with a doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Discuss use with a doctor before applying it to an infant younger than 2 months (See Reference 3).
