Use Moxibustion To Treat Breech Babies

Moxibustion originated in the Mongolia region of China thousands of years ago as a way to combat diseases caused by the damp, frigid conditions in that area. Moxibustion is performed by lighting mugwort and burning it over the skin of a person who is suffering from a disease. In Chinese medicine, the body is filled with meridians, which are lines of energy, and the spot the moxibustion is performed will be on a meridian line that corresponds to the ailment being treated. Moxibustion is currently performed all over the world, usually by practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine or acupuncture. Recent modern scientific research has shown that the use of moxibustion is an effective and non-invasive way to treat breech babies.

Instructions

1. Urinate before beginning the moxibustion procedure. Since the moxibustion used to treat breech babies stimulates your bladder meridian, you may experience an overwhelming urge to go to the bathroom before you are done performing the technique.

2. Take off your shoes and socks, and sit in an upright position with your feet raised in front of you. You should be able to reach your toes comfortably.

3. Peel the wrappings off the first half of two moxa sticks, and then light the ends with a match. Once a flame is going on each stick, blow out the fire. The sticks should remain smoking and hot.

4. Wave one stick beside the outside edge of the little toe on each of your feet. Keep the moxa sticks 1/2 inch away from your toes, so that you feel the heat but do not experience any burning. Keep this up for 15 minutes, and then extinguish the moxa sticks by tapping the ash off the ends against the edge of a sink.

5. Repeat this procedure once a day for 10 days, or until you feel the baby turn inside of you.
