Treat Adult Acne Cysts

Adult acne can be embarrassing and uncontrollable. It can destroy one's self confidence and self esteem. Sometimes you can get painful cysts that seem to never go away and when they do, they leave scars. There are some things you can do to help treat these cysts and minimize the pain and scarring.

Instructions

1. Apply a hot rag or warm compress to the cyst when you feel one coming on. Hold it on your skin for five minutes at a time, 5-10 times a day. Make sure to use a clean rag or washcloth because the last thing you need is more dirt or bacteria on your skin.

2. Cleanse your skin twice a day, in the morning and before bed. After cleansing your skin wet a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide. Hold the cotton ball on your cyst for a few minutes. This will kill some of the bacteria under the skin and help reduce the size.

3. Apply moisturizer after each cleansing and hydrogen peroxide treatment. You want your skin to remain hydrated because dry skin can cause even more skin irritation.

4. Squeeze some red eye relief eye drops on a cotton ball. Place the cotton ball on your cyst. Hold it there for a minute or two. The eye drops will help reduce the redness.

5. Go see a dermatologist. If you have an important event coming up that you need to look your best for go see a dermatologist. The dermatologist can give you a cortisone shot which will shrink your cyst in a couple days time.
