Seborrheic Dermatitis Help

Seborrheic dermatitis is a skin condition that causes excess oil on the skin. Although seborrheic dermatitis may affect the entire body, it is more common on the scalp. Seborrheic dermatittis of the scalp may lead to hair loss, which is easily treatable following an effective regimen of both pharmaceutical and natural remedies. These treatments address the underlying causes and secondary symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis.

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Use an anti-dandruff shampoo containing coal tar, salicylic acid or pyrithione zinc. Massage the shampoo into the scalp. Work the shampoo into a rich later from the scalp to the tip of the hair follicle. Leave the shampoo in the hair for a minimum of five minutes in order to achieve the best results. Rinse using lukewarm water to allow the shampoo to treat seborrheic dermatitis even after the shampoo has been rinsed. With your fingers, lift the hair so that water can travel from the tip of the hair follicle deep into the scalp. Follow the shampoo with a gentle hair conditioner as well as a conditioning treatment using a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water.

Vinegar Conditioner

Pat the hair dry with a towel after washing with an anti-dandruff shampoo. Use a solution of 50 percent apple cider vinegar and 50 percent water to condition the scalp. Pour the apple cider vinegar solution onto the scalp from the front to the back. Use the pads of the fingers to massage the vinegar conditioner deep into the scalp. The vinegar will unclog the scalp's pores and lessen the severity of seborrheic dermatitis. It also penetrates the scalp to remove fungal infections of the scalp and hair follicles. Avoid using a blow dryer on the hair, and let the hair dry naturally. After the hair has dried, brush from front to back to evaluate the effectiveness of the shampoo. Use a boar bristle hair brush to avoid the risk of damage to the hair follicles.

Scalp Massage

Use the pads of your fingers to massage the scalp. Perform a scalp massage simultaneously working the lather from an anti-dandruff shampoo into the scalp and after using the apple cider vinegar conditioning treatment. Massage the scalp from the back of the neck to the sides of the head then work toward the front of the head. Massaging the scalp helps reduce scaling of seborrheic dermatitis and to stimulate blood flow to the scalp to improve hair growth.
