A brain aneurysm is a disorder of the nervous system. An aneurysm is a bulging blood-filled sac connected to a cerebral artery. If a brain aneurysm is small in size and doesn't rupture, there are no symptoms and there is little risk to your general health. Symptoms appear when the brain aneurysm is big or it ruptures.
Pain
With an large brain aneurysm there is pain around the eyes. If the aneurysm ruptures there is an excruciating headache.
Vision Problems
The eyes are affected when you have a brain aneurysm. There could be vision changes such as double vision or blurriness. Double vision is also a sign of a ruptured aneurysm.
Eye Problems
One or both eyelids could start to drop and the pupils could be dilated or widened.
Numbness or Paralysis
A more serious symptom is a feeling of numbness on just one side of the face. Paralysis on one side of the face is also possible.
Stiff Neck
Having a stiff neck is a symptom of a ruptured aneurysm.
Nausea and/or Vomiting
Occurring with other symptoms, not alone, nausea and vomiting are signs of a ruptured brain aneurysm.
Fainting or Passing Out
If you lose consciousness, this could indicate a ruptured aneurysm.
