Bee pollen is the pollen collected by honey bees. It has a history of use as a supplement with numerous health claims for people. Little research has been done to back the claims; though it is a nutrient dense food.

Bee pollen contains 28 minerals--calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium included. Micro-nutrients, such as Lycopene, also make up the mineral content.
Vitamins
There are many vitamins present in bee pollen. Among them are the B vitamins, folic acid, biotin, and vitamins E, C and D.
Protein
There can be different levels of protein in bee pollen. It ranges from 10 to 35 percent. The average range in pollen tested is just over 24 percent. Pollen also contains amino acids.

There are approximately 7g of carbohydrates and 28 calories per ounce of bee pollen. The fiber content is about 7 percent.
