Adjust A Remington Trigger

The Model 700 is Remington's line of precision bolt-action rifle. The triggers on Remington Model 700 rifles feature the X-Mark Pro system, letting you adjust your trigger to your particular specifications. The X-Mark Pro system is adjustable by manipulating the setscrew located on the inside surface of the trigger. The setscrew is adjusted by using a hex key that is included with the rifle. Before you adjust your trigger, check to make sure that the rifle is unloaded.

Instructions

1. Dry fire your rifle -- pulling the trigger while the rifle is unloaded -- to determine the trigger pull and whether you want to increase or decrease the trigger pressure.

2. Locate the trigger-adjustment hex screw on the inside of the trigger near the top. Place your hex key into the adjustment screw.

3. Decrease the amount of trigger pull by rotating the screw clockwise, or increase the trigger pull by rotating the screw counterclockwise.

4. Remove the hex key and test the trigger pull by dry firing your rifle. Repeat the process to make any further adjustments.
