Obtain Better Health Now

Eating fruits and vegetables is one way to improve your health.

People sometimes get caught up in the busy routines of life and forget to take care of themselves. If you have struggled with classes, relationships, work and children, you may have sacrificed your health in order to stay on top of everything. People often make this mistake and don't realize how damaging it can be in the long run. Take time out for your health starting today. The more you delay, the more you'll find yourself feeling down in the dumps; neglecting your health makes you vulnerable to illnesses due to a suppressed immune system.

Instructions

1. Have breakfast daily. Start training your body for breakfast even if you are not hungry every morning. Eating breakfast is one of the basic steps for weight loss and maintenance. Eat a high-fiber meal because it helps regulate blood sugar concentration. Eating breakfast helps you avoid cravings before lunch so you don't overeat at midday.

2. Eat your greens. Eating leafy, green vegetables will improve your health. You will be eating less saturated fat and more fiber, which helps relieve constipation and makes bowel movements regular. Eat salads mixed with baked chicken strips, cranberries and crushed nuts. Make salads using raw spinach, which is much better for you than cooked spinach because the quality of the antioxidants, vitamins and fiber in cooked spinach is greatly diminished by heat.

3. Start eating fruit. Soothe your sweet tooth with nature's gifts and avoid processed and refined white sugar. Try strawberries, cherries, blueberries, raspberries and pears. Not only are fruits sweet and worthy substitutes for desserts of cake and cookies, but they are rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

4. Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep causes a decrease in mental performance. People often sacrifice a few hours of sleep thinking they will have more time to complete tasks throughout the day, but this often causes a decrease in efficiency instead. Lack of sleep causes irritability, fatigue and increased mental stress.

5. Drink less coffee. Coffee contains caffeine, which is a powerful drug that can interfere with your sleep. For a mental boost, drink green tea instead. Green tea has a small amount of caffeine but contains antioxidants that are better for you health.

6. Cut salt from your diet. Salt increases fluid retention and causes blood pressure to rise. A diet with excessive salt causes a rise in blood pressure. High blood pressure results in strokes, heart attacks and kidney disorders.

7. Start exercising regularly. Exercise is essential for a healthy heart and strong bones. People who exercise throughout their lives are less likely to suffer from obesity, osteoporosis, heart disease and back pain.
