Doityourself Antifungal Cream For Feet

Antifungal creams found in the local drug store can be expensive and contain harsh chemicals. These chemicals may work quicker than natural antifungal remedies but also expose the skin to unforgiving elements. A natural antifungal cream for the feet is effective, causes no side effects and can be made at home. Many of the ingredients needed to make your own antifungal cream can be found in your local supermarket or drug store.

Natural Antifungal Agents

Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is an effective antiseptic and antifungal agent that is readily available in local drug stores. According to Drugs.com, research has proven that tea tree oil stops the growth of fungus and bacteria and it doesn't cause irritation to sensitive tissue.

Lavender, best known for its aromatherapy benefits, is another natural way to treat antifungal infections. Unlike tea tree oil, however, lavender has a pleasing scent.

Myrrh oil is another effective antifungal best known for its treatment of jock itch.

Grape seed extract is stronger than alcohol in killing bacteria. It is also known for it antifungal qualities and can be taken internally or applied topically.

Do-It-Yourself Treatments

Treat athlete's foot inexpensively with cocoa butter lotion, tea tree oil and lavender oil. In a small container with a lid, combine 1 cup of cocoa butter lotion and 10 drops each of tea tree oil and lavender oil and stir until mixed. The cocoa butter will soothe and heal cracked skin caused by a fungus infection. Apply directly on feet and in between toes twice a day. This may take several applications before athlete's foot is completely gone.

For an even stronger antifungal cream for feet, combine the above ingredients with five drops each of myrrh oil and grape seed extract and apply as instructed above.

Treat toenail fungus on impact by applying three drops each of tea tree oil and lavender oil directly on the nail bed twice a day until the fungus is gone.

Caution

Never swallow essential oils as these agents may make you sick. Avoid eye contact as stinging will occur.
