Tennis Elbow Chiropractic Treatment

Chiropractors.org reports that tennis elbow is a condition acquired from doing repetitive movements such as typing, not necessarily playing tennis; therefore, more people are affected by this condition than what most believe. Chiropractic treatment can be a great way to treat this often painful injury.

Symptoms

There are several symptoms of tennis elbow. They include pain and tenderness over the outside of the elbow, difficulty extending the forearm, and pain when lifting or bending the arm, or when carrying objects.

Warning

Pain can persist if treatment does not occur. Because tennis elbow is due to repetitive movements, the problem will only get worse. These repetitive movements can include movement in your fingers or shoulders, not just at the elbow.

Time Frame

It will take more than one treatment to heal the injury. Because the condition resulted from a buildup of movement to get to the injury, the reverse must be done to correct it. There may also need to be adjustments in lifestyle, such as different positions for sitting and typing, to prevent this from happening again.

Treatment

When going to a Chiropractor, he will look at the entire alignment of the body to see how it is functioning as a whole. Adjustments are made to the area of injury, and to other areas such as your neck or shoulders if they are overcompensating for the injury and are out of alignment as well.

Prevention/Solution

The best way to prevent an injury is to be aware of your surroundings. Learn the root cause of the injury and be sure to follow the action plan given by your chiropractor so that no further injury will occur and prevention and recovery can begin.
