Essential oils have been used for centuries in a variety of natural treatments for just about every medical condition under the sun. If you are experiencing itching, whether caused by dry skin, fungal infections, bug bites or skin conditions, a variety of essential oils can help to soothe the itch.
Instructions
1. Make a soothing moisturizing oil, adding your choice of essential oils to help keep the skin hydrated and reduce itching. Quality carrier oils for skin care include almond oil, olive oil, avocado oil and grape seed oil. Your healing oils can be massaged over the entire body, or directly over affected areas two or three times a day.
2. Soothe itching skin with a relaxing and healing bath. Simply add 10 to 15 drops of your chosen essential oils or oils to warm bath water and soak for at least 15 minutes.
3. Test a patch of skin for sensitivity to essential oils before applying to larger areas. If you see no reaction after 24 hours, you can safely use the essential oil in a variety of topical treatments.
