Use Essential Oils To Calm Pets

Just like children, pets can get overly stimulated. The good news is that you can create a gentle mist spray that can be used to calm down overactive pets. This can be particularly helpful when traveling and going to the vet. Here are two mist spray formulas you can prepare using essential oils, that will help calm your overactive pet.

Instructions

Use Essential Oils to Calm Overactive Pets

1. Choose 100 percent pure essential oils. Only these offer healthful benefits. The label will state "100 percentpure." You can find them at health food stores and online. Don’t use synthetic oils. They do not have the same benefits.

2. Choose which formula you prefer based on what you like to smell. Formula #1 uses Marjoram, Lavender and Orange essential oils. Formula #2 uses Lavender, Chamomille and Mandarin.

3. Prepare the mist spray bottle. First rinse it out with purified water to clean out any dust or impurities. Do not use soap. Fill the bottle with four fluid ounces (or 120 ml) of purified water.

4. Add the oils for Formula #1. To the water, add 60 drops of Marjoram, 40 of Lavender and 20 drops of Orange.

5. Add the oils for Formula #2. To the water, add 50 drops of Lavender, 50 drops of Chamomille, and 20 drop of Mandarin.

6. Cap the bottle and shake well to mix ingredients.

7. Spritz five to10 sprays of the mist in the air above your pet so they can inhale it. Keep the bottle handy if you are traveling in case you need to use it again.
